Mela è un nuovo modo di concepire l'artigianato del lavoro a maglia. Ferri e uncinetto diventano strumenti di sperimentazione artistica.

Emanuela Melchiorre, designer di Mela, da anni si dedica alla creazione di modelli innovativi. Parte dalle vecchie tradizioni italiane, dalle tecniche e dalle idee tramandatele dalle due precedenti generazioni di knitwear designers  per elaborare un proprio stile rigoroso ed essenziale.
Nata e vissuta a Roma, attenta ed entusiasta viaggiatrice, si lascia contaminare nel suo stile dalla bellezza classica delle forme rinascimentali e barocche dei monumenti e delle fontane romani, dai colori della pittura di Raffaello, ma anche dall'asimmetria e dalla inaspettata eccentricità di Gaudì.
Pura passione e creatività contraddistinguono la produzione Mela e la sua designer Emanuela Melchiorre con capi unici e titolati.
Filati pregiati esclusivamente prodotti in Italia lungo l'intera filiera produttiva, attenzione alla qualità e all'innovazione caratterizzano ogni singolo modello Mela. Accanto a filati tradizionali come lana merinos 100%, mohair, seta e cashmere sono utilizzati nelle creazioni Mela anche filati di nuova generazione come mais e bamboo.

what inspires us

Mela is a new way of envisioning craft of knitting. Knitting and crochet become tools for artistic experimentation.

Emanuela Melchiorre, designer of Mela, has devoted years to the creation of innovative models. She started with the old Italian traditional technique, learned from her two previous generations, then she developed her own rigorous and essential style.

Her style was inspired by being born and raised in the classic beauty of Rome, her passion for travelling, her appreciation for the Renaissance classic beauty, Baroque monuments, colors of Raffaello and by the asymmetry and the unexpected eccentricity of Gaudì.

Pure passion and creativity characterize the Mela's collection and it’s designer Emanuela Melchiorre.

Each item of the Mela collection is exclusively produced with fine Italian yarns, and with attention to quality and innovation.  In addition to the traditional yarns such as 100% merino wool, mohair, silk and cashmere some of the Mela creations involve unusual and innovative materials such as corn and bamboo.
